Moral of the story. .. don't start Redshirt freshmen or true sophomores in the SEC.

Well done. Yards per play is a better indicator that total yards.
It also shows that our offense should improve with QB experience.

Someone throw 2003 in there. The trend is real.

True. In fact, why bother even getting yards at all, right?

Or it just means you have terrible down management if your offense isn't picking up first downs. Yeah you may be getting lots of yards per play, but you aren't managing your down, distance or time. ... it's really meaningless if not taken in context.

LSU's offense was No. 1 in the nation in 2013 in 3rd down conversions.

What's our record over those years? We are a running team. We aren't going to consistently have years like 2006 or 2013 where the passing game was a legit weapon. I like our rushing attack. I like our play calling. If you want a flashier team go watch A&M.

How many plays per game was LSU running? And how many plays per game did LSU's opponents run? My empirical observation is that LSU will not be a leader in these categories.

Relevance?

I prefer a team that can run. Being forced to pass on 3rd and 2 every time because you have no confidence in running is every bit as bad as being scared shitless to throw on 3rd and 5.
I don't want flashier. I want more productive. You can be "non flashy" to a fault if you do so at the expense of production.

What were OSU's ranks when Miles was there? Wasn't he originally a big-time proponent of the forward pass?
Posted on 12/11/14 at 1:06 pm to House_of Cards
OSU was 15th in 2003 and 105th in 2004.
