We are really starting to explore red burgundy here in the Cricket household. I've done a lot of reading and repeated research, but it's still been a big learning curve.

Any 2011 1er or Grand Cru that you might recommend?
I tend to stick to the Rhone Valley when I'm buying French wines. I look to the New World for pinot noir and cabernet sauvignon.

Maybe some of the other posters might have a recommendation for you.

Anything from Chateauneuf du Pape is going to be good, albeit pricey. The Mouton Cadet Bordeaux is very good as well. 2010 was an excellent year for Burgundy wines.
