Nice, I asked my locator about Mockingbird station. He said it was out of my price range, plus a long commute since I'll be working around DNT and Legacy.
Check out 6820 Preston @ Legacy. It's burbs but for your price range you should consider the burbs. Hell man. When I lived at the STation you could get a nice apt for 1100. I'm old. And we were the first tenants in our unit. Watched it being built on my way to rugby practices back then.

Live in Lewisville or Coppell in the same nice units for a fraction of the cost and drive to Addison
Don't listen to these idiots unless you have a family and don't want to slay strange/have a good social life. Dallas(actual Dallas) south of northwest hwy is the best place to live if you are 22-30 yrs old.

How bout the Village? That used to be a god damned frick fest of 23-28 yr old singles when I was in Dallas.

FOund myself crashing on friend's couches who lived closer to Greenville and Lovers Lane area.

I heard Addison was up and coming...a good mix of city and burb. I'm 27.
Mainly older people, very divorcee kind of feeling. Besides them having a shite ton of mediocre restaurants its an overpriced not that cool place to live.
It's basically where Plano/Frisco/Mckinney residents go out. Trust me dude, you'd be way better off living in the village(very reasonable and great centralized location) or somewhere around uptown(more expensive but social life is way better)

Thanks, I'll take a look. I can afford more, but figured I should be conservative since this is my first job out of grad school. Plus, more money to play and explore Dallas too.

I moved to Addison when I graduated lsu, based off of suggestions from people who did not live and work in Dallas(younger fraternity brothers from plano) and it sucked. Trust me, no one wants to party in Addison, but if you don't like to party just live in plano

Yea, if you're under 30 and single, and living north of park lane, you're doing it wrong.
Honestly, check out the village. Will definitely be in your price range and everyone there is young. Plus it's close to a chick fil a.

Exactly. Its location to fun, white rock, etc is perfect. It's not just a frick fest like I mentioned. It's affordable for couples. I had two friends living in there. One with a gf and other with his wife (both in grad school at the time). Was significantly cheaper than our fancy new apartments my girlfriend made us live in.

I lived her for 5 yrs and liked it, plenty of restaurants bars etc close by. Addison is about 10 minutes south. You have easy access to the North/Soth toll and Bush Turnpike. Lots of hots at the pool during the summer. Google Madison on the Parkway if the link doesn't work.

Addison is full of 25-35 yr olds but there's also and older factor for sure, I was upper 30's when I hung out there and was never bored.
It depends what you want but what I would want is a shorter commute to work, you can easily spend an hour each way in DFW traffic. The North South Tollway is a frick story every morning and evening but you would be going against the flow.
Remember also gas and tolls add up quick, my last job was an hr commute each way and $10.00 gas $8.50 tolls ($370 a month)(27 miles and it took an hr) But if you are OT Baller these minor expenses do not matter

And stay away from 635, it's a nightmare for the next 5 yrs.

Checkout the area between Greenville/Skillman/Lovers/Mockingbird. Lived there for a while. It's a great location. I lived at The Standard.
