Interesting moves for the White Sox (between this and signing Robertson). Seems like they are going for it this year, but I would have thought they were more than a year away.

That was a from a fake Ken Rosenthal account that Sportscenter got tricked with.

The trade is done and happening, but Semien is the only guy known that's officially in it.

Never understood the fascination with this guy. He is 36-48 with a 3.75 ERA over the last 2 seasons. Ok, a good chunk of that is with a rebuilding Cubs team, but he did not do particular well during his time in Oakland.

Beane went all-in, at least Oakland's version, last season by trying to get starting pitching to get over the playoff hump that has plagued the A's. It didn't work. His current problem is that he knows he has to compete with the Angels. Is it realistic to think he can rebuild the A's to compete in 2015, or does he look to 2016 and later? In either case, he has to shed salaries to get the A's back into their payroll comfort zone, and reconstruct a team with an eye for the future as well as 2015. I think he realizes that the A's offense went in the crapper after the Cespedes trade. He is trying to rebuild, and his ideas on which pieces are replaceable confound outsiders, but his track record indicates he generally gets usable players.

It will be interesting to see how these trades turn out for Oakland, but I'm not sure a proper evaluation can be made until a couple seasons are played.
