Yankees receive 24 year old Didi Gregorius
Tigers receive 26 year old Shane Greene
DBacks receive 23 year old Robbie Ray and minor league SS Domingo Leyba
Didi will platoon with Ryan at SS for the Yankees next year and he is a young cheap player for the Yankees
Shane Greene performed well last year and he actually exceeded his minor league peripherals for the most part
Ray was acquired from the Nationals last year in the Fister trade, he is young but struggled last year. Leyba was the #9 prospect for the Tigers last year.....
Yankees also signed Andrew Miller to a 4 year 36 million deal, he signed after Yankees bumped it up from 32 million once the Astros offered 4 years and 40m

He's a premier setup guy who can easily step into the closer role.
Baseball contracts are crazy fwiw.

I just wish who was a lefty who could get 3 good hitters out

I'm honestly not worried about that money, I think Yankees get 2 premier seasons out of him and 1 ok season before a subpar season. The Giants bullpen was made of of expensive relievers (in terms of baseball, although none were paid what Miller will be)

I am thinking that the Yankees also bring back Robertson for 4yrs 44-46 mil to make a dominant bullpen. I hated to see Shane Greene go because he was really solid with good stuff but they needed a SS badly. Nobody close to being major league ready in the minors.

Yankees gonna play like the Royals next year. Won't be able to score any runs, but Miller, Betances, and Robertson will be nasty. If you're behind after 6, you're gonna lose.
Pythagorean W/L will be like 80-82, but their actual W/L will be like 90-72.

When the D'backs traded for Gregorious Kevin Towers said he reminded him of a young Jeter.

The Tigers turning Doug Fister into Greene when they are clearly in win now mode still is puzzling to me.

If Gregorious isn't productive at the plate, the New York media will eat him alive.

He won't be, but neither was Jeter last year.
Didi will be in a platoon with Ryan since Didi hit .186 vs lefties last year, will be a nice upgrade from a defensive perspective.
Personally I think McCann/Beltran play better next year + upgrade at SS + who year of Prado, Tex, and ARod the Yankees offense actually plays better than last year.

Shane Greene was worth the gamble. Could have found the ss for 10 years if it works out, he can be buried at the bottom of the lineup. If Ellsbury and Gardner stay healthy at the top the lineup should be able to produce. Lot of unknowns in the rotation though.

Somehow I am sure the d-backs got screwed

Tanaka
Pineda
Nova
BMach (who I think they resign)
CC
which is a very strong rotation led by 3 very young players
A full season of Tex/Arod is better than what the Yankees got a 1B/3B last year and Didi/Ryan can be an improvement over Jeter. If McCann/Beltran play better that is also an improvement at C/DH and Gardner/Jacob I expect to produce similar really. 2B is the only real question mark I have right now for the Yankees but it appears it will be Prado which is better than what they had last year.

Hearing Refsnyder a lot at 2b, could be Cash throwing smoke around to get a deal done.
Tanaka - Cy Young stuff if elbow is healthy
Pineda - Who knows, just the hot girl at the bar getting free drinks
Nova - same as Pineda just closer to closing time and I have beer goggles on
CC - hopeful, just a lot of innings finally catching up I think
Scherzer - Merry Christmas

Pineda if healthy is a #1/2 at worst
Nova imo is a #3 at his best and a #4/5 on an average day
CC is just a back of rotation filler
BMac could be a capable #4/5 as I think he could provide 17-+ innings with a 3.75-4.00 ERA
I hope Yankees do not get Scherzer, I would prefer Lester or Shields honestly for less money/less years

Hopeful that not having to go thru another season saying goodbye to a HOF'er will let the team relax a little and just play baseball.

Team is not that good. They have a few bad contracts (Tex, AROD, CC, McCann) and that hurts them because those players have to start and they can't really bring in a cheaper option.
if Yankees can get 145 games out of Tex/Arod I think the two could combine for a .260/.350/.425 line with about 35 home runs between the two. That alone would be enough if McCann/Beltran improve slightly and Jacob/Brett continue their current paths. Yankees could be a 95 win team if pitching holds.
