Why do so many LSU fans think Brandon Harris won't improve? He's a true freshman with ridiculous ability and a good head on his shoulders. When is the last time a true freshman...not a redshirt freshman... was a stud in the SEC? It's like so many fans have already given up on him... Unbelievable how ignorant some fans are.

very good points...but I don't think tiger fans have necessarily given up on him. I do think that we are fairly cynical in general because we really haven't had a ton of world class quarterbacks in our history and that shows in the fans' impatience with that sort of thing...

I don't think a single person on this board ever said that Harris wouldn't improve. The prevailing concern is that he may never get a fair shake at winning the starting job.

Problem is he never got a chance. Kid even sat on the bench until the 2nd half of the 4th quarter against KY when we had a 30+ point lead in the early 3rd quarter.
THen Miles blows BS in public about him getting playing time against AL, then Jennings could not have been worse against ARK (but Miles said before that game that Harris would play) then Miles said the same crap in public before the AtM game. Really - either say nothing or stop leading the kid on in public.

It can happen. Question is: Will it be noticed by our coach? And if it is noticed, but the QB in question is not in the "most favored" status, will improvement matter?

Just rewatched the New Mexico St. game and couldn't believe out great BH looked and how AWFUL Jennigs was in that game. Sure it was NMS but then why did AJ only get 84 yards in 7 drives go 2/5 and only have one rushing TD. EVERY single drive BH had resulted in a TD except the take a knee one.

AJ fumbled, threw 2 int.'s and looked atrocious with his misses...not even close. BH brought an energy we've lacked all year and the team seemed to respond.

Imagine if we'd given him more game time snaps???? He will be fine. He's a winner, and we all know it. I'll remain patient, but........

I remember Jarrett Lee being yanked after the 2 Bama pics, and never seeing the field again. How AJ started all year is beyond me.

I think it's because Harris did not get enough playing time to substantially improve this year. Alan Risher says that real game experience, not practice, is the best way for a player to improve. So, Harris will still be green again next year when he should have gone into next season with quite a bit of experience. There was a lot of wasted time for Harris this year.

It's obvious Jennings won't improve. Yes he runs the option nicely but he is bad at throwing the ball. Harris has more upside.
