#2 Les Miles - I heard on ESPN radio this morning that he has turned down the job twice. FALSE. He has never has been offered the job. The first time he was tied up winning the national championship and the second time around Brandon had already mentally hired Hoke and just flew down to have dinner with Les and get his opinion. Yes, Les turned both into contract extensions and raises as he should.

Lets talk about how half the people in the athletic department hate Les. At this point, I don't give a damn what they think. We need to put that feud between Les and Lloyd away and move on. Les is 61 and will not coach this program forever. Give us 5-7 years, recruit like he does at LSU, beat OSU and MSU, win a few Big Ten Titles and pick the next guy. If Jimmy isn't coming Les has to be the choice. You don't need a search firm to validate that.

Listen, I think Les is a bit strange and would be my second choice behind Jimmy. He recruits, he hires great coordinators, plays great defense, and wins a ton of football games. We need a brand name hire and he is one that will accept the job.

Let's put it this way, is Les one of the top 5 coaches in college football? I think most would agree he is. Then you have to hire him. (Let's also not forget that he will accept the job!!!)

Despite Miles being unable to beat Saban since 9-6 in Tuscaloosa, LSU fans better be very careful about hoping Miles goes to Michigan.

Was the hiring of Saban and Miles a Brand name hire? LSU fans freaked when Saban was hired because he was not even on the list of possible hires and most fans new nothing about Saban. Our fans freaked on the hiring of Les because he had just lost his bowl game at OSU.

Carry on LSU fans! I like our last 2 head football coaching hires here at LSU. Les is a rare great fit for LSU with a damn strong Brand.. :

If Miles goes north, we'd likely lose more in recruiting than we'd gain in gameday decisions with the next coach. It would still be frustrating, just a different type of frustration.

He was offered and accepted the first time and Herbstreit let the cat out of the bag so Les backed out of the deal - wisely so.

That "busy winning a title" part is nonsense. LSU wasn't in the title game until after Pitt beat WVU later that night. Les knew there was a shot LSU could get in, but it wasn't official until hours AFTER the SEC championship game.

How is your source better than ESPN's?
Seriously what trusted inside information do you have?
I'm guessing NONE. But I welcome your proving me wrong.

Again give us some names, dates, provable incidents.

I'll hang up and listen.

The problem with Michigan is the dysfunction right now
No big time coach wants to touch it right now because of the uncertain AD position - he may or may not get the job.
Who will your boss be?
Michigan should have hired an AD first and foremost but now you have two high profile positions open and too much uncertainty out there.
Plus what is Michigan willing to pay. If they are not in the $4 million range you can kiss Miles and any other big time coach good bye.
Numbers may be holding them back

I hope they do get Harbaugh, but i can't see him moving back to the college game...

i'd love to see Michigan dominate The Ohio State every year, just so i can see Meyer's bitch arse whine about it... hope he drops dead of a fricking heart attack, piece of shite....

but as for Harbaugh, yeah, i think although the 49ers didn't do much this year, he's still a great coach.... 3 NFC Championship Games is not something to sneeze at...
