Robbie Keane wins MLS MVP

Can't say it was a bad choice. Lots of strong options this year. Lee Nguyen is awesome.
Top four finishers:
Robbie Keane
Obafemi Martins
Lee Nguyen
Bradley Wright-Phillips
The new MVP just needs to bring home one more title for Landon.

I hate that the MVP of the MLS is basically a old European wash out. Don't get me wrong. I love Robbie Keane. Ireland is my #2 national team. My mom was born in that beautiful country. I just would rather an American win the award.

I think it should have been BWP.

It should have been Lee Nguyen. That man put that team on his back and carried them the entire season, until Jermaine Junior helped lessen the load. The Revs don't even sniff the playoffs without him. Keane has been lights out, it's true, but if there is any player who was most valuable it has to be Nguyen.

Same with BWP and NY.

Did you somehow forget about Thierry Henry?

BWP scored nearly thirty goals. Henry was closest with 10.

Who do you think helped set up those goals? There is a reason Henry played midfield for NY and not FW.

BWP would have been my choice

Robbie Keane was awesome for Wolverhampton

Why?....you going to have a problem when either a Brazilian Spaniard, a real Spaniard, or a Belgian wins the BPL mvp (or whatever the crazy arse FA calls it)
Crazy all three of those SOBs are on the same team lol.

The vote is compromised by three elements: team, media, and player vote. Keane won in all three categories. BWP was second in the player vote, but got no respect among the media.
Player (Club)........................% of Club Votes...% of Media Votes...% of Player Votes...Weighted Total
Robbie Keane (LA)................30.95.................. 32.22.................... 25.52.................... 88.69
Obafemi Martins (SEA).........19.05................... 27.78.................... 16.39.................... 63.22
Lee Nguyen (NE)...................21.43.................. 18.89.................... 17.22.................... 57.54
Bradley Wright-Phillips (NY)...20.25.................. 7.78...................... 21.78.................... 49.81

It's different. Old players who come to the MLS because they can't hang with the best anymore should not be destroying the league, but they are. Fricking Henry is dominating as a midfielder in MLS. That's absurd.

I don't think they are destroying the league at all. That seems like quite the hyperbole to me.
Building a league is a process. MLS is not going to sign Messi, Bale, and Ronaldo this off season.
MLS will continue to grow, get better, get richer, get larger, become more popular, develop home players. In spite of all that may be said to the contrary.

I mean the players are having dominating performances. They are destroying the competition.

You realize that Henry is one of the best to ever play the game, right?

No. I just assumed he was lucky the dozens of times he raped Spurs.
Of course he is one of the best ever. But he is much older now and playing out of position. 37 is ancient in soccer. There's a reason he isn't in Europe or still playing for France.
Serious question. Do you think Henry would have been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League in his prime? I don't. What set him apart was the tremendous speed he had in addition to skill. He would have just been another player as a midfielder. Probably a pretty good one, but nowhere near where he was as a striker. Dude is seriously one of the GOATs.
