All I hear on the OT and the poli board is don't trust the government, unions are the death of this country, and cops are dog killers. Now in this case, this board trusts all three.
Most people (not you) are intelligent enough to realize one size don't fit all, and even though I don't trust the govt. in many cases, and I believe law enforcement is out of control, nothing about this case suggests the officer is guilty of any wrongdoing.
Some people have been suckered into a cause by a few wildly inconsistent facts. Congrats.

when i hear Joe Scaraborough and Donnie Deutch (sp) on MSNBC this morning, and both are saying that the protesting is way off base, then I freaking KNOW that something is astray.

A large percentage of modern day society does this. On a myriad of issues. It's really disturbing and ignorant. And ignorant by precise definition.

Worse. They're apathetic to the truth.

I walked outside at 1 pm. I smelled no smoke nor heard gunfire. The race war had obviously been canceled.

Ahhh, so what is it about this case that makes you trust the government?

It appears nothing solid supports a few "eyewitness" stories, and the eyewitness testimony is extremely inconsistent. The information we do know backs up what the officer appears to be claiming.
Nothing supports the "hands up, don't shoot" bullshite except for a few eyewitnesses who have been contradicted.
If someone want's to support a shooting that may be unjust, look to the 12 year old killed in Cleveland by a cop. People's anger is being misplaced.

Right. There are legit cases worthy of protest IMO. This just isn't one of them.
It may be that the officer shot used lethal force when it wasn't absolutely necessary but that's a widespread Law Enforcement problem IMO. I do believe Brown provoked the shooting, whether the shooting was justified or not I don't know and I doubt anyone else does either.

quote:Yeah, I certainly don't by the "Brown was an innocent young child" angle to this situation. But I also don't believe lethal force was necessary in this situation.

I just wish the discussion about Law Enforcement would open up. It's a subject that should be discussed nationwide.
