One William Larry Muschamp coached his last games as the head coach for the University of Florida Gators today. He ends his Head Coaching career at Florida with a 28-21 record and far more sideline meltdowns than victories.
He was a highly regarded defensive assistant prior to being hired as the Florida HC. The University of Texas had previously given him the title of Head Coach in waiting to appease him to stay around Austin a little longer while Mack Brown strutted across the state under performing with elite talent.
He is a native of Georgia, grew up as a kid in Gainesville, FL. He played for the Georgia Bulldogs as a walk on Safety in 1991-1994. Muschamp broke into coaching as a GA at Auburn in 1995. His big break came by being hired as LB coach by Nick Saban at LSU in 2001. Saban promoted him to Defensive Coordinator in his second year, in his third year LSU won a BCS national title.
Muschamp followed Saban to the Miami Dolphins after the 2004 season and was the DC there for one year before returning to the college game as the DC at Auburn in 2006 where he earned his nickname "Boom" after famously yelling the phrase "Boom, motherfricker!" on live national television and chest bumping one of his player after a big play against the Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville, AR.
After the 2007 season Muschamp once again acted as a rat jumping off a burning ship and left Tommy Tuberville's staff at Auburn for Mack Brown's University of Texas Longhorns and a DC position. In the middle of the 2008 season Texas announced Muschamp would be the next coach at Texas, in a pre-emptive strike to keep Muschamp from taking a HC job elsewhere. The tactic served to keep Muschamp on staff on staff two more seasons before he accepted the HC job at the University of Florida.
Now that four year run has ended with a 28-21 record that gave Florida it's most embarrassing lost in recent school history losing at home to then FCS Georgia Southern, and narrowly escaping a loss to Louisiana-Lafayette with an extremely lucky punt block and return for a touchdown late in the game. Muschamp did get Florida to one Sugar Bowl, which they loss in a loserly fashion to Louisville and the Florida fanbase embarrassed the SEC with their putrid attendance.
Now some football organization will bid big and pay big to hire Will Muschamp to lead their organization or to be an assistant coach and lead their defensive efforts.
Reply with your nominees and give reason as to why you think Muschamp will select the organization you believe he will. On Tuesday evening I will add the players in the Will Muschamp sweepstakes and assign odds to their winning the Muschamp contest.

He sits out a year and takes a mid level HC job.

If I am Sumlin, I am making a phone call if I haven't done so already.

He's not going to a&m. I think he is going to be looking for another head coaching job in another conference.

Sumlin should go after him with gusto

Not A&M. They have zero talent on defense outside of a very soft pass rusher who looks like a WR.
I like Auburn, they have the talent.

A&M has cash and they will pay.

This.
The guy has a winning record as an SEC HC and took them to a BCS bowl. It wouldn't surprise me if some lower tier BCS school like a Virginia or non-AQ program came after him for their HC job. I don't think it's a given that he just relegates himself to being a DC.
Ron Zook sucked and still got the Illinois job. Hell, Charlie Weis was terrible and got the Kansas job a few years later.

Everyone already knows he can be a great DC, he doesn't need to build up a reputation for that. He needs to go be a head coach in a different conference, and prove he can be a head coach.
Going back to being a coordinator does nothing for his resumé.

Muschamp to S. Carolina. South Carolina will be looking to make a change at DC and WM and Spurrier are great friends.
