Will LSU Ever Have A Losing Record Again In Football?

Wife asked this morning: "When was the last time LSU had a losing record?"
I said: "1999...DiNardo was the coach."
Her: "No way! I remember that terrible season Miles had a few years ago."
Me: "They were 8-5 that season..."
This got me thinking about this season and going forward. If Miles were to have a losing season while at LSU, this season would have been the best opportunity for it to happen considering the overall strength of the SEC West...Maybe things arent that bad afterall.

If anyone could manage it, it's Les Miles.

Forever is a long time, so I'll say yes.

Every team in the country has and will eventually have a losing record again.

Probably the year after Les retires

Not with 4 cupcakes a season

Most of the time it only requires beating 2 remotely competitive opponents to avoid a losing record in the regular season so things would have to be very bad for us to see that happen

I'm disappointed but I have to admit that even LSUs bad years lately aren't that bad.
My wife is a UVA alum and thinks I'm nuts for being unenthused about 8-4 and a bowl

If they do, it's all your fault. Thanks.

Absent a disasterous coaching change it would take a lot of bad luck.

thats fricking stupid to say, considering he has gone a decade with 5 losses as his worst.

We never play 4 cupcakes a year. Wisconsin was a great out of conference win. Take a look at aTm if you want to see cupcake schedule.

If someone told you before the year we would go 9-4 you wouldn't have been upset. This year went as expected as far as record. The abysmal QB is what upsets me the most

I think teams are going to have to start scheduling up and the days of the 4 cupcakes are going to be a thing of the past, so it will be more likely in the years to come if you have a losing record in conference that might mean a loser overall as well.

Yes but hopefully not for another 29 years!

As long as Les is here, I don't think so. He just doesn't lose to out of conference opponents and can always win a few SEC games (the Dale Brown formula).
But yes, LSU will have a losing season again because even the great Saban lost to out of conference opponents and the SEC is very tough.
