Could say the same thing about the service academies, yet they still play in bowl games.

Bowl games are after finals.

Playoffs are during.

Elitism, they think they and their tradition is better then competing against the FCS. All of their other sports compete in the postseason play, Ivy fooball is stuck in the 1930s. I'm sure the teams would love to compete if their admin would let them.
