I've got two garage door switches, 5 schlage locks, and something like 15 dimmer/switch combos. Everything working good for me.

Before I start repairing my devices has anyone else had problems with tapts or trippers in the last 2 days?

A few people have complained of dropping random items... The wink Facebook rep said an update is coming real soon. Also, leaksmart is now wink compatible. Home depot has raised the price of the hub to $69

frick me. My locks are gone and when I glanced about half of my lights are now missing, 3 trippers are gone and one tapt is permanently offline.

Its going to be a pita to re add everything and set my robots back up.

Ive been reading a ton on wink and smart things.

Smart things isn't perfect, they have some issues. I bought those z wave motions from mono price and I havent decided on a hub yet

Question:

Is there anything in the Wink system that would enable you to control your TV?

Did you get it all figured out?

I'm looking at getting the Kiddie 2-1 combo alarm. However, I already have existing smoke alarms that are linked.

Is this going to work?

Do I need to replace them all at once and just stuff the wiring into the ceiling?

No. Every tripper and tapt is gone along with half my dimmers and locks.

Have a lot of work to do to get everything re-added, renamed, and added back to the robots I had created.

fricking sucks. I have to pop open each tripper and remove the battery as I go and the first one I did this with broke a tab on the unit so this is going to be fun.

I got the kiddes. They are nice but at $50/ea I'm waiting on a sale to buy more. I think you can only add up to 16 on the same network and you have to match the dip switches on all the units which is a little quaint but I like them.

Hope you get it back up and running without breaking anything. That's incredibly frustrating.

It looks like the Kiddie zwave version doesn't work with the hard wired, interconnected setup that I have now and they don't have an alternative part number that does. I guess I'll have to keep the dumb ones for now.

Is WINK compatible with other wireless devices and home tech, or is there a big element of brand lock in? Id hate to go down the wrong path if these things aren't at least somewhat interchangeable.

Id like to start off with a few light switches, but Im not sure if its worth having to buy the hub and all the other gear, vs. finding something that piggy backs on to my wifi network.

Well I've researched until my eyes hurt. Was going to go with Samsungs hub but after reading their forum...they are not perfect either

Pulled the trigger in the wink hub tonight @ Home Depot.

They went up on the hub to 69.99 but the shelf still has them at 49.99 so they honored the 49.99 price.

Im hoping the price increase means something good is coming with the next update.

this is a valuable page for anything wink related if you haven't seen it yet.

The only reason you have that hardwired is so they all go off. You still have to replace the batteries every couple years.

So while you are technically correct, you could opt to slowly replace the hardwired set with the wireless ones since they do the same thing.. It would just be funky while you still have some old and some new since depending on where the detector went off...only the others on the wired or wireless would join in.
