Looking for a budget friendly laptop for daughter and I have narrowed it down to 3 that I have found. The Dell and the HP have basically the same specs (Intel N2830 dual core processor, 4 GB Ram, & 500 GB HD) with the only difference being the HP has a touchscreen. The Asus has a better processor (Core i3) and that is the one I am leaning towards, but it is not for me and she might enjoy the touchscreen better. All are the exact same price at $249, so please help me decide.

If it's not a surprise, ask her if she would want a touchscreen. I've actually had a computer of each of those brands and my preference would be ASUS, Dell, then HP. Obviously my I'm going to like my current laptop the most, but I really like my ASUS a lot.

Might as well rule out the Dell for having no discriminators. I would choose the ASUS for the better CPU (and will also have a better integrated GPU. I've seen those celerons, like the one in the HP and Dell, hit 80-90% CPU usage just trying to watch HD video on youtube).

My recommendation is to at least jump up to an i3 for a decent experience.
