So you think CC is a qb coach guru?

I think he is a great QB coach, but like i said, he is a coach not a magician.

Silence also could mean that there is nothing to tell?
The only former qb I have seen recently that has criticized their own coach after they left is AJ McCarron. That's pretty interesting.

Correct, and you are saying that all the different LSU OCs had no ability to develop QBs, including the one who has demonstrated such in the NFL.
You dismiss that past NFL QB development as an anomaly and point to the current lack of QB development as proof.
In my opinion, it is much more likely that Jennings just does not have the arm strength to make most throws "on a rope". He has to "lob" most passes. He also (for whatever reason) does not do well on timing routes. Therefore, the passes he excels at are 1) wide open receivers, or 2) go routes that the receivers can run under.
Harris, has a much stronger arm. He is small in stature and from what we have seen, does not run the offense smoothly. Let's all hope he bulks up over the summer and get a whole lot better command of the offense.
The couple plays the Harris ran vs. Kentucky looked real good. He stepped up in the pocket (yes ther was one) and delivered a TD strike. I think we have a good QB there if we can bulk him up and he gets more time in the system.

You need to keep developing if you are going to succeed
Agreed, but the problem is how they are being developed.
Right now, LSU is suffering because Les obviously wants to win as many games as possible (which is fine), but it may be coming at the expense of long-term success.
As my old high school football coach used to say "this is not a football team. This is a football program."
My favorite example: Matt Stafford in 2006.
Season stats: 52.7% completions. 7 TDs. 13 INTs.
That's the kind of stats that make would make some Les Miles apologists say "hmmm...UGA didn't have an SEC-caliber QB that year."
Yeah, but they let Stafford take his lumps and let him throw interceptions. That's how players develop and learn. Throwing against the scout team defense in practice isn't exactly comparable.
The tough part is that I don't think Miles knows what his long-term QB situation is, and with the way Jennings is playing right now, that's not a good sign.
If Harris is the QB of the future, he needs to be playing now, and being allowed to make mistakes.

he could not effectively operate the offense against Auburn. Maybe he will get another try against aTm.
Let's see what happens.
ETA: I do think it would have been nice to give him some series in the 2nd half against Arky. Perhaps their safeties would have backed off.

The answer is very simple. A J would not start in another Top 25 program, LM will not allow fans to state the obvious

Peyton Manning couldn't effectively run this offense. This offense is an absolute travesty.

SammyTiger is Manny Miles

We will get to see what kind of coaching they are capable of. Jennings is about to go through his 3rd spring and Harris his 2nd. There is absolutely no excuse not to see some significant improvement at the QB position regardless of the guy the coaches roll out week 1. Sammy is right in regards to Cam not being a magician. Not a single fan should expect Jameis Winston or Cam Newton levels of play out of our guys. But we are all justified in expecting better than what we have seen this year. From playcalling to completions percentage, next year should bring about the offense assissting in winning football games.

But Mettenberger could run it.
You saying Mett is better than Manning?

I never said we didn't develop Mett. That was someone else. It did take 2 full years once here in order to get him up to speed. My problem is with how long it takes for our QBs to be productive (if they ever do become productive at all).

I think it also has to do with the fitting the square peg in the round hole. Both of these guys are athletic, supposed dual threat type athletes who belong in a system more akin to Auburn's. So 1) why don't we adjust our scheme to fit our personnel and help them develop under their natural talents and 2) if we aren't going to do 1 for whatever reason, why are we recruiting them in the first place?

Agreed. If Jennings can handle the position, the coaches need to realize this. All QBs should be being developed and given an opportunity to start next year. All should also have the motivation of real competition the threaten their position.

You (plural). You said "we" are talking about, so the "you" was meant to cover "y'all".
Anyway, Here is to hoping for better QB play.

Bradford

Winston
Barrett
Leinart
were all Redshirts
so they had a year to a year and a half if they wear Early Enrollees.
So one year in the system and no on the field experience?
Jennings played in 9 games last year and started in one and he's still terrible. Sometimes waiting on a qb to "get better" is just a waste of time. Jennings is limited physically and he cannot process info quickly as a second year qb.

I expect there will be a drastic improvement in Harris next year. If not that is when i would get very concerned.
A lot of my opinion of Cam as a developer is based on my belief that Jennings lacks physical skills that are really necessary to run an effective offense in any system.

I definitely agree with this.
It is frustrating to see Harris sit on the sidelines. I don't really have all the information of whats going on. I do expect Harris to start next year.
