MY expectations, even though you didnt direct it to me, is that I expect our win loss ratio to be in the top 5 of the SEC over a 5 year period. Any 5 year period should contain at least one SEC championship and hopefully a playoff berth.
I guess we have slightly different standards then.
I expect a little better than top 5 in the SEC. I expect us to be no lower than 3rd in the SEC over that 5 years.
I expect an SEC championship about once every 3 years and a playoff berth about once every 4 years.

No, you just aren't as funny or clever as you think you are, that's all.

You said I was far in one direction. I assume that had a meaning of some sort.
I expect to compete for the west title pretty much every year. We do that, and everything else should work itself out.
I expect to win the west at least once every four years currently. The west is just very stacked at the moment, so I realize this is probably not going to happen this past four years. Regardless, miles seat should get warm if we aren't still in contention for the west before November.
I'd like to see us actually develop a QB. It's really the last piece to our puzzle, as we've developed pretty much everything else outside of TE extremely well. If our QB development doesn't improve during the next two years, that should also get the seat warm.

I don't feel like we've really competed for it much in 12,13, or now in 14. Guess we will see next year.

I agree. I feel like its kind of glossed over. Its the most important position on the field not being developed. Thats a big deal. We do pretty good developing other positions except TE and QB. (I also feel that our Oline could be developed alot more)The other most important position on the field. 2 glaring weaknesses on offense. In a stacked SEC west, I don't know if we can afford to have those being underdeveloped past next year.
In other words, this seasons sucks and is over. If we aren't in contention in the SEC west next year in November, I believe Les should retire/move on/be fired.

We were a minute away from winning the West.

It's just kind of hard to define competing. This year we still had an outside chance going into November, and we see how that worked out. In 2012, we had a shot until we lost to Bama in November.
Last year we were out of it after the ole miss, and Bama sealed it. My expectation is met when we are still in it with two games left. Is that too little? Who knows

Nope. We lost. And then shat the bed against Clemson. But we were quite close to winning the West and that isn't really up for debate. I consider that "competing".

Wow the sunshine pumping is still strong apparently.

Thanks I needed a good life. Les is a great recruiter (see number of players in the NFL) and a very mediocre coach (see number of losses with future NFL players)

I tend to agree here.

All I get from that is damn bama has been ridiculous

Yes he is, I just posted the facts. His win loss record since 2008, his WORST stretch since he's been here, is good enough to be in the top TWO in the conference. Those are elite results any way you slice it and you have no way to refute it. Wins and losses are all that count when assessing the compentency of a CFB coach. Not much you chicken littles can do about that!

It's not that hard. If you're out of it the first weekend in November, as we were in 2012, you didn't compete. If you're out of it before November, as we were in 2013, you didn't compete. If you're out of it after the first two SEC games, as we were this year, you didn't compete.
If you don't go into the last two games of SEC play with a solid, realistic chance to win the division, you didn't compete. We haven't done that since 2011, and have only done it that once since 2007.

Exactly. And that has happened ONCE in the last seven years. It is inexcusable for LSU not to compete for the SEC West title more than once in seven years. Give us any coach in the SEC West during that span (with the possible exception of John L. Smith or maybe Orgeron), and I'll bet we compete for the title more than once in those seven years.

We were still in it up until losing to Bama, but don't let facts get in the way.

You may want to recheck your math.

No, they aren't. In that time frame, three different SEC teams have won more SEC and national championships than LSU. The only reason two of them are behind us in your weird stat is that they also had a couple of bad seasons to push their loss totals up.
And that's not even to address your apparent assertion that 2nd place in the SEC West, 12 games behind the leader, is "elite".
