He is from Georgia, Georgia doesn't recruit him, Mark Richt always has decent Qb's, if he didn't see nothing in Jennings then what were we looking at!

We want a mobile QB with at least a good enough arm to manage the game. That's what we recruit and Jennings fit the bill.

UGA didn't recruit Perry Riley or Kelvin Sheppard either and they both ended up being good players for us.

UGA knows QBs though.

But why? Mobile doesn't equal quality. We need someone who can move the ball.

During this same time frame LSU had Mauck, Russel, Flynn, Lee, Jefferson, Mettenberger
LSU 3 SEC titles Georgia 1 SEC title
LSU 3 National title games Georgis 0 National title games
LSU 2 National titles Georgia 0 national titles
Big edge LSU

Yes they do, but just because Jennings goes to LSU doesnt mean he wasnt recruited by UGA. And what is UGA supposed to do? just ignore other positions and only take qbs? no, they had their guy Ramsey and he committed in 2011 came in 2013 and hasnt played a down.

You are assuming that LSU only got to those games because of a good qb. For the most part, the qbs were average, it was the defenses and running games as well as a little good luck from other teams losing late in the season that allowed us into some of those games.

And UGA has an identity on offense. They recriut to what they want to do. Stafford, Murray, Green, Mason, etc. are all pro-style drop back passers. Shockley is the only outlier in that group. UGA was wise enough to know that Jennings didn't necessarily fit what they wanted to do. LSU though wants to continue to jam square pegs into round holes on offense. Plus, just because UGA didn't recriut a Georgia kid doesn't mean he was "no good". They went out of state to get guys like Stafford and Murray because they were the best for what they wanted to do.

Even without considering the team accomplishments LSU still has the edge. Both programs have a good lineage of quarterbacks but I would take the LSU group over the Georgia group.
Your statement should give some reason for future optimism if the QB play can improve to the point it becomes consistent and can complete between 55-60% of the passes. The other elements are going to become stronger as those young players mature.
