Quick reminder: this game will have no effect on recruiting.

Our best recruiting classes have usually come during pretty down years. Like the 09 and 10 classes, which where the whole reason we played in the NC in 2011, signed after 5 and 4 loss seasons where our QB's played like AIDS. In contrast, we had our worst class during the great 2011 season. Recruits do not care about W/L unless you're going 4-8 or 3-9. They care more about relationships with their recruiter, playing time, NFL draft history, atmosphere, and white women than an individual loss or win.

This helps the pain a little

You can't count on stats or numbers or percentages. Just look at all the CLM numbers, etc.
25-1 after a loss....... sure.
25-1 after a loss....... sure.

If I am a skill player I would have some concern. Sure we have put many skill guys in the league but this year has been horrific, it's regressed to a level where there are legitimate concers.

The inability of this staff to identify and develope talent must affect recruits

The fact that this staff has put more players in the NFL than anyone else in the last 10 years proves this statement is false.

Yeah, cause it's not like we had 18 players get drafted in the last two years or anything.

I guarantee skill players and QBs will keep this in the back of their mind. Not saying it'll be a deal breaker but it won't help us

Nah, QB's will see this and think man, I can go in there and start day one. They don't see shite like we do. We as fans are way too emotionally invested in a fricking college football team, they look at from a much more impersonal way than we do.

you sure?
I get what you're saying though. It's a cumulative effect, not JUST this game. Right?

If I am a WR I'm scared to come here.
Posted on 11/16/14 at 12:58 am to I20goon
Yeah, I'm sure that means Jazz is going to decommit.

I'm not saying that (even though you want to pretend I am)... what I'm saying is that performances like that create a perception. And that perception has an effect. Not on everybody, not on same 100% of the times. But it is there. It is out there.
And what I'm alluding to is the "what have you done for me lately" way of thinking, what some refer to as the "TV effect". All the good things (WR's in the NFL, etc) are all forgotten with the one, highly visible, negative. Happens with grown men in business (that one frick up ruins 5 years of good service) and it damn sure happens with kids.

How can u say this will have no effect on recruiting? You know what all potential recruits are thinking? I know if I am a wr recruit, I am not coming to LSU .

So what is LSU doing wrong that they can't pull OOS talent if the talent pool in state is down?
And even if the talent in LA is up, there are a growing number of recruits packing their bags going elsewhere.
It's all about the perception that is LSU...that talent doesn't need LSU to develop them to the next level...if that's the case, why aren't they lining up to play?
