I would have Travon Boykin and crab legs ahead of Barrett. TCU is in the top 4 and in their 1 loss they scored 58. Barrett was pretty shitty in OSUs loss that will keep hem out of the playoff.

37 yards from Tomlinson's NCAA record for yards in a game and we still have 20 minutes to go.

Doesn't mayter what you would have.
1). You hate Ohio State
2). The experts and media are on the Barrett train.

He broke the Wisconsin & Big 10 record (Ron Dayne - 339) for rushing yards in a game.

This game will probably seal the Heisman for him

He's NOT catching Mariotta.

They got shut down because on those other 3 runs he had in the second half they didn't get first downs and went three and out. LSU controlled the ball almost the entire second half.
I'll show you video to prove it.
LINK
Here he is when he breaks off the 60 yard run at the start of the second half. People say this is where he aggravated his injury, and they say he pulled up, that's the only way he could have possibly been caught. That's just not true. The guy that caught him is a day 1 NFL prospect with 4.5 speed. He's just as fast as Melvin.
It takes them a few more plays to score and LSU gets the ball back with 12 mins left. They held onto the ball for 5:30 minutes on a long drive before getting a field goal.
The next drive (7 mins left in the third quarter) they go deep on 1st down, they run the backup 1 play, he gets nothing (not uncommon), and they are forced to throw on 3rd down. Qb has to scramble and doesn't get the 1st. So 3 and out, and they only burn like 1:30 seconds off the clock.
Then LSU burns another 4 mins off the clock and gets another field goal. That means LSU controlled the ball for 10ish mins of the third quarter.
LINK
Here Melvin is late in the 3rd quarter with a run on the first play of the drive. He loses a yard due to LSU stacking the box. They run a WR screen on 2nd that only gets them 2 yards. 3rd and 8, have to pass. 5 yard completion. Another 3 and out. And they only burned another 2:00 off the clock.
LSU keeps the ball for the rest of the third quarter, and 3 minutes of the 4th quarter before getting a touchdown.
LINK
Here he is on the first play of Wisconsin's next drive. Again LSU stacks the box and he gets 2 yards. If you listen to the announcers after the play, they start talking about how LSU is stacking the box to shut him down. Wisconsin gets a penalty and are forced to pass on 2nd and 12. They throw a pick and LSU has the ball back with 11:00 to go.
LSU scored 2 minutes later.
LINK
Here the announcers question why Melvin isn't in on the next drive. Nevermind the fact that they were literally just talking about how LSU is stacking the box when he's in the game on Wisconsin's last drive. So Melvin isn't in the game, but they run with the backup, and what do you know, the backup gets a first down on a run since LSU isn't stacking the box.
Wisconsin gets another couple first downs with the backup in, and then they decide to bring Melvin back in on 2nd down and 10 at the 50. LSU brings the blitz, Melvin picks it up, but the pass is incomplete. 3rd and 10. Melvin releases in the flats on this play, but LSU brought another blitz and the QB was forced to throw it to someone else. It ends up being yet another pick.
LINK
After LSU burns another 4 mins off the clock, it's late in the 4th quarter and Wisconsin is down by 4. Needing a touchdown, and not really being able to run the ball. They do it anyway, and Melvin gets the pitch on an option and loses 3 yards. 2 incomplete passes later, Wisconsin punts.
This game wasn't about Wisconsin not utilizing Melvin correctly. This game was about LSU stacking the box to shut Melvin down, and controlling the clock for the entire 2nd half.
I'll show you video to prove it.

Unfortunately this is a quarterback award because Melvin is the best player in the country

Just be glad he didn't play A&M
Would have easily eclipsed 400 yards

I have zero respect for the reward and think its a sham.
It's impossible that the best PLAYER in college football is a QB every year....sometimes a RB.

I really hope so.
Also seems like a good guy after seeing some interviews of him.
