Looking for the best socks when the weather is like this for deer hunting and ducking hunting. When my feet get too cold I quit so price is a real question unless they cost more than my rifle.

Thin dress sock first and then a good wool sock on top. Learned that from a guide up in Montana years ago....Hasn't failed me yet.

I wear smart wool. You are saying best so as long as you don't mind spending $20 on a pair of socks then that's what I recommend.

I use the Bass pro brand that has the lifelime warranty. I also use the wicking liner socks.

Get you some Gortex socks. Just wear regular socks underneath them and you are all set

Mine have lasted several years now, so the price point is irrelevant.

Go buy some sock liners... They will help wick the moisture off of your feet even better than just good socks alone. That's why your feet get so cold.
Sock liners, smart wool socks. Done.

DO NOT wear a goretex sock in the south we have too much humidity. Goretex is a material that is naturally moisture resistant. so your foot moisture is trapped in the sock inside the goretex sock and will only become colder and colder.

Costco had some smartwool knock offs I bought, and they are awesome. $12 for 4 pair.

I have a few pairs of Smartwool light, medium, and thick socks. They wick moisture very well and keep my toesies warm. Another plus is that they last forever. I have no problem spending that much for the quality and performance you get from Smartwool. In fact, I'm wearing the medium ones right now

Even better setup is wool liners, look like dress socks. Cotton is a no no.

I typically don't wear them when it's warm, but sometimes I'll put on the thin ones when it is. They are so much more comfortable than cotton Haynes socks, it's hardly believable.
