I don't have the GPS on, yet if I drive from Baton Rouge to Shreveport (4 hours) I use up 75% of my battery power in just those 4 hours. Its worse on the road. It's an iPhone 4. I have most location services turned off. I have Bluetooth turned off.,What are the likely culprits?

My battery goes down quickly if I'm offshore/nearshore.
I don't know if it's true, but I've been told that the phone is constantly searching for a signal, which evidently is power draining.
If so, could be true with all that rural driving you're doing.
I've been putting mine in airplane mode when not in use down there.
Now I'll listen to folks more smart than me.

Make sure WiFi is turned off. If you are in an area where there is no WiFi signal your phone will be constantly looking for one unless you have it turned off.

Not sure why it drains that much, but like one user mentioned it is constantly searching for different cell towers and causes drain. When I travel for work or when I'm in some crappy service areas my phone dies fairly quick as well.
