I heard on the radio that Gillespie called Warner to concede.

Yeah Warner held his seat by about 1% and Alaska still has another week but Begich should go down.

Or maybe the R's could become libertarian and earn those votes.

Gillespie could have asked for a recount, but decided against doing so. Planning his gubernatorial run and wanted to look graceful in defeat.

Virginia is gonna have the choice of the former DNC Chairman or a Republican Lobbiest in a few years.

Are the Democrats going to run another DNC Chairman?

No, he will run for reelection.

He can't. The governor of Virginia cannot serve consecutive terms.

I would like to see that here, and with the Legislature.

OR they could go to a LA-type primary.
Moving to get Libertarian votes, loses other votes. That doesn't mean don't do it, but let's not pretend there aren't consequences.

I actually learned something on here today

I think the final tally was about a 17,000 vote difference. If you look at a red/blue map of Virginia, you'll see that Richmond, Norfolk, and the rest of that densely populated northern region of the state is blue. The rest of Virginia is just about all red. Warner won with 62% of the vote during his previous election. This time he won with 49%. The times they are a changing...
