Really didn't know much about him outside his name and the fact every LSU fan loves him... he has a weird, captivating, and interesting history for sure.

This is why no one knows anything about Pistol Pete.

I feel like that documentary shows him being a huge a-hole. Or maybe I heard that somewhere else.

We were about the same age so I guess I just don't understand how someone cannot know about the Pistol.

He was great in college, very forgettable in the pros... and he died when I was 7 years old...
People that don't know who Derrick Thomas was confuse me... but ... not that surprising.

Dale Brown had all of his college shots charted. If there had been a three point line, he would have averaged 60+ points per game.
He wasn't just great in college. He was, and is, the best.

Pete spoke to my middle school and my mother is friends with his widow. He fought a lot of demons but became a very humble, content, and spiritual man.
On the lsu basketball court, he was unstoppable. Once he got to the pros, his life started to unravel a bit. Thankfully, he got it back together.

I don't think I would go that far. He wasn't as dominant in the pros as he was in college (injuries played a big part), but he was still named as one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history

quote:my, you sure are harsh this morning - one other record he holds and wasn't published much back in the day (Jazz days)- clocked at 169mph in his 911 Turbo coming off the Causeway (south approach) Troop L clocked him - don't think he was given a ticket just a warning.

Yeah, the guy who made 4 All-NBA teams and 5 All-Star teams, lead the league in scoring in 1977, and once scored 68 against the Knicks sure was forgettable. He's in the HOF. You sure know a lot about basketball man.
