No studio has ever had their collective shite together more than Marvel. The amount of planning and scripting to make this many titles work together over a course of 10+ years is absolutely amazing.

Yeah, they've got hits and misses, but they've clearly got their shite together and know exactly what they want from this massive undertaking. I have complete confidence in them to pull off this vision, since they themselves tend to understand this universe... unlike the people at DC.

The people at DC don't have a fricking clue what they're doing. Snyder and Goyer knew people didn't like Superman Returns, so they completely make that film the opposite of it. They succeeded in making it the opposite, but failed at making a Superman film and the opening chapter of the franchise, completely glossing over horrifying details.

And it seems as if they're doing more of the same with Batman vs Superman, and not thinking this through either, and seem to think that adapting The Dark Knight Returns at this point in the franchise simply because Batman fights Superman in it and it's Batman's most popular comic.

And now they're simply seeking a director for Wonder Woman who specifically has tits, and not necessarily the most qualified. Among the finalists right now is the woman who directed Twilight and Red Riding Hood. So in effort to not appear sexist, they're doing the most sexist thing possible and automatically disqualifying over half of the directors who would love to take on this project and may be more qualified to do it.

The lack of thought by DC is pretty astounding. Really what they should do if BvS blows, they should just start from scratch again, and then pay Bruce Timm like $30 million dollars to put together some long term 20 year plan together with a 5 paragraph summary on what each plot should be about, and then go from there. It's clear Marvel has known basically exactly where they were taking this from Day 1, even if there have been a few missteps, it's been clearly calculated and it's royally payed off. The people at DC are going through this blindly, abandoned joy for their franchise as a whole due to not understanding Nolan and trying to emulate him, and really don't know what the hell they're doing. I can't imagine Martian Manhunter or the Flash in this joyless universe.

And before BnG comes in claiming I'm a Marvel fanboy, I'm really only into X-Men in the Marvel universe. My big heroes have always been DC, which makes it all the more frustrating on how they're handling it.

They originally weren't sure whether to make the Hulk a hero or the villain for the first Avengers. Only after the Avengers was so successful did they start taking even bigger risks.

The success of Guardians of the Galaxy told them that they had the green light to do whatever the hell they wanted with phase 3.

Breathe. Not necessary to bring in DC. Let's enjoy the awesome news because honestly, I don't see a bad choice/announcement in here.

Not even missing out on a solo Hulk or Widow movie. As much as I want those, I think this slate of films is to specifically build to a Panther lead Avengers in A4 or post-A4, and that's an AWESOME thing.

Marvel has their shite together, let's end it there.

ETA: I'm not saying you're wrong though.

Since you brought it up, , yes, Marvel is doing a great job. DC doesn't have a chance to compete with the ensemble that Marvel has created.

There have been too many frick ups and different adaptations of Superman and Batman for them to be as successful creating something as original as the Avengers superheros. They fricked up The Hulk, yes, but that's it, and even the second Hulk could fit in with their universe.

DC just had an entire Batman trilogy and a horrible Green Lantern movie that will have absolutely nothing to do with the new universe. I think in the end they will not even come close to Marvel. Jon Favreau and Whedon have done a great job from the beginning giving us great symmetry in their movies.
