We need Malik Jefferson more than a dt.

Love it.

I completely agree. If the valentine db gets cleared up we will have a ton of talent next year at DT. Our biggest need should be DE and olb right now. Imagine having malik, keion joyner, and dylan moses as our linebacker corps

Texas' problems have nothing to do with Charlie Strong who is a very good coach.

LSU recruits Texas very well and we need to continue to do so. Jamal Adams is one of our best recruits ever. I am worried about the 10K payout for players that Texas will begin to employ.

Malik's mom could probably use the extra money that Texas says they will begin paying their players for her travel expenses. We should follow suit with a 10K per player payout as well.

SO no blame goes to the head coach for a dogshit weekly performance by under performing players?

Damn, I want to be the CEO of your company. You'll pay me millions and never blame me for poor performance?

"very good coaches" get in over the heads all the time. Charlie Weis was a VERY VERY VERY good coach in the NFL and it didn't transform to ND football very well.

Strong and Texas are NOT a good match, IMO. They are getting worse and although having very solid rankings via recruiting, it isn't transfering to the field thru coaching.

Do you remember Landon Collins and Gerald Willis? Doesn't matter what the mom wanted in those cases

the effect of this is going to be interesting in college football. on top of previous expenses you'd be talking about another 850k for player's walking around money. that's nothing to a big program but another nail in the financial coffin for midmajors and bcs programs that are already in the red

The moms influence never works for lsu EX: Landon Collins, gerald willis, adoree jackson all kinda ignored the parents and then guys like lorenzo carter stayed home for his parents

my thoughts on this parents issue. he's going to make his own choice. how can a parent say no when you're getting a free education OOS.

Not every recruit out their says screw what my parents want I'm doing what I want. He says he's trying to convince his parents to let him take an official to lsu so obviously his parents are a big factor in the decision.

Yeah, because Mack Brown left Strong a ton of talent and a program on the incline. Texas had not been underperforming for the past 4 seasons. It just started this season.

You're a genius.

If only Strong could be as good a coach as Petrino because he is coaching up the players well at Louisville as Strong didn't leave him a wealth of talented, disciplined players in the cubbard.

Winning a few games at Louisville is a far far cry from competing on all levels at TX. He may do great there, if he lasts. How can you not have some success at TX?
It's his show there now and he is doing a poor job at coaching. You blaming the prior coach is hilarious. But if Strong was doing well, it would be because you got rid of Mack?
Do yourself a favor. Take the average rating of TX recruits and compare them to a school who has wiped the field with TX this year. Then come back here and explain why strong is getting plowed by schools with lower rated recruiting classes. It screams bad coaching to me.

Peace homer

IMO, Strong will have Texas back to Top10 within 2-3 years. He is a tremendous coach IMO. Lots of "cleaning house" going on this year, and that was to be expected.

I predict that Strong will have much more success at UT than Sumlin at A&M ... I predict Sumlin will be fired within 4 years, about the time Strong has Texas back up top.

You seem pretty sure of your opinion. Unfortunately, that's not how if works out most times. Not all players pan out and not all players are a solid fit for different offensive/defensive schemes. The schemes the kids were recruited for probably doesn't fit their HS scheme once a coaching change occurs and there is a learning curve.

BULL shite! Most times the schools with the top recruiting classes are the top schools in rankings. The ones who aren't, the coach is "strongly" on the hot seat.

And look at TX best years, they were loaded with recruits.

Look at the recruiting classes ranked the last ten years and look at the top 10 ranked teams at the end of the season....I'll wait..

Now the question is, why is TX one of the teams who consistantly has good classes but now all of a sudden can't win a game? They are one of the only ones, btw...

Strong went in and cleaned house. Usually the worst actors are some of your best players. He probably knew he was gutting his team by doing it, but he had to in order to change the culture and build for the future. He should get a complete pass this year with very low expectations the next. After that, if improvement isn't evident, then the criticism becomes legit.

Sat next to he and Daylon Mack at the TCU game last weekend. To be honest neither one seemed like they were very interested in TCU but they did seem like they were really good friends. If we could get both down to visit at the same time we might be able to work some majic. No way Daylon is 6'2. Definitely 6'0-6'1 with a Glenn Dorsey build.

Looks like Mack is now thinking LSU is going to be one of his officials. No date/game info. I'm going to venture a guess they will come together.

Different situation, as Landon didn't live with his mom, and Gerald was influenced more by his brother, who couldn't stand to see Gerald help LSU...water under the bridge thou.
