Batman 4? So you're saying there's a chance.

While I appreciate Nolan's talents at great filmmaking, I feel like DC needs to go into a different direction and embrace an approach that's more comic booky and colorful while keeping real world stuff mixed in.

F this. I'd rather see Nolan focus on doing more films like Inception, Memento, Prestige, Insomnia, etc.
I despise this comic era we're in.

Well too bad you're in the minority.

I'd enjoy the comic era more if they made better movies. Maybe it's just because I didn't grow up reading comics so I'm not a huge fanboy, but most of the Marvel movies are incredibly overrated, IMO. Talk about a universe full of weak villains (at least Ultron looks like he might possibly be a badass)...and heroes for that matter. The first Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and The Avengers are the only really solid movies. Captain America 2 and Iron Man 2 are alright, Thor's movies suck, Iron Man 3 was garbage, the first Captain America was weak, and I haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy yet.
I'll take Man of Steel and TDK trilogy over any of them, with only the first Iron Man possibly being on the same level. Well, the same level as MoS anyway.
I wonder how many downvotes this is about to get.

yea you should, it reminds us all how little difference there is in a comic book and todays movie standards,, which are pretty terrible.

Why do people complain about movie standards and Hollywood today as if these problems are new? They're not.

you mean as opposed to when Humphrey Bogart was making movies? well there is a lot more crap now and a lot less quality per aggregate output, so yes, it is relatively new.

Actually, Hollywood hasn't changed much at all since its inception. They routinely interfered with films to maximize their profitability.

Hollywood has always operated on a profit basis, that might bother some people, not me.
The thing that has changed is the number of 2 bit wannabes trying to make movies, esp the low budget crap that started becoming prevalent when camcorders became widespread and lib arts colleges started teaching "film making".
for every 'Star Wars' there are a hundred or a thousand 'Voyage to the Planet of the Prehistoric Women' movies.

Ever heard of Poverty Row?

like I said previously, the number of these wannabes has changed exponentially, I realize concepts and numbers are hard for many to deal with, but if you actually read what I said, you will see I didn't say budget movies are a new concept anywhere.

very true, but be careful saying that around here. The fanboys don't take too kindly to any criticism of the MCU.
