An Apology to the Board

Many of you may have missed it, but I got hammered pretty good in another thread somebody had started this morning. While I felt like I was giving my honestly-held beliefs, i could tell by the diversity of posters who were criticizing me that maybe it's time for some honest reflection about some things.
I do want to say this. When i talk about how much it bothers me to see the President of the United States and the Attorney General of the United States fueling racial animus instead of trying to be real leaders and bring this country together, i am not exaggerating the extent to which it bothers me. People are free to disagree with me, but for but some to act act like that doesn't make any sense, well, I sincerely don't get that.
But nevertheless, I get the message. From now on, im going to leave any and all race-related topics to the rest of you. Good luck with that, btw. The dirty little secret is, everyone of us comes to this board with a certain biases and prejudices, primarily based on our life experiences.
So, sorry to anybody who may have been legitimately offended. You know, I would actually like to have honest discussions with somebody like ommg, maybe even find some common ground. Is that even possible? I dont know.
I would like to refute one thing, though. Someone made the comment that I only talk about race-related matters. Nothing could be further from the truth. I've discussed a plethora of issues here. Everything from the national debt to 2nd Amendment rights to abortion to media bias to immigration, etc, etc. Just yesterday, i was talking about how the networks even staff the "light news" shows with mostly liberal on-air talent. It didn't illicit any responses, probably because it was 4-5 paragraphs and contained too much detail.
So, no more race-related topics for me. I would suggest that people join me for some personal reflection, because we all bring some personal bias to those discussions.
I'm sure a few posters will take this opportunity to bash me, and that's fine, but this is intended for anybody/everybody who would like to see this board used for, hopefully, a higher-level of discourse. I obviously failed in that pursuit this morning, but I plan on learning from the experience and getting better.
Don't ask me any questions, because I won't be posting in this thread again. As Les Miles once said, have a great day.

While higher level of discourse is most needed I also very much enjoy mid level and scrapping the bottom of the barrel discourse around here.
Its why I love TD's the threads and post.

You shouldn't leave yourself out of any discussion if you feel you are adding to it with honest discourse.

That's one of the worst apologies of all time!

So, what ya gonna do if I ask you a question?

That wasn't an apology

I haven't actually read the other thread in question, but this isn't an apology. There's several times more verbiage dedicated to defending yourself than actually showing any signs of remorse. Making a big spectacle of things isn't changing anything; if you're not really apologetic, then just say so.

Why does anyone apologize on a message board anyway?

it's really simple, why would it make sense to those who agree with Obummer/Holer? If you can't tell up from down, like they obviously can't why do you think they can deal with anything that requires reasoning?
Most of them are as conditioned as Pavlov's dog to start ranting and drooling the second "race" comes out of the mouth of one of their "masters". Expecting them to be capable of anything requiring logic of reasoning skills is like expecting the moon to be made of cheese,,, you should know better.

It's just that it seems that race has become an obsession. And not that you don't make some valid points, but it seems to be the only thing you talk about.
It's like what Trackfan, Burt Reynolds, and CT used to do with their Jew bashing.
Or Toddy with his gay marriage threads.
Or IP Freeman with his frickING FILM TAX CREDITS RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE Jindal rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble Duck Dynasty rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble.
