This is a Weimaraner.

quote:

"How he is still alive at this point is pretty much a miracle," said Deanna Theis who is assistant director of the Southern Animal Foundation.

She says that it is the only public veterinary clinic in the New Orleans that is a full service non-profit service to the public and also a no kill rescue organization.

I'm glad they got to him in time, will probably be a beautiful dog when he fills out.

We have a rescue dog that was a stray. German shepherd mix. She is on the smaller side and now weighs 45 lbs. When we got her she had been at pound for one month and weighed 25 lbs. Sometimes I catch her eating her own nails. She was skin and bones at 25 lbs and had hardly any hair. I cant imagine what she looked like when she was picked ip. Sweetest dog EVER.

As soon as I saw the picture, I was thinking that they will probably kill him from overfeeding him. Sure enough, they almost did but sounds like he's gonna pull through. Will be a beautiful dog.

Dog's probably going to have a major food neurosis for the rest of its life.

That dog was lucky. When I was his age we would have dreamed of having rocks and twigs.

The only thing we had was particularly dry dust. On Christmas me old da would dampen it with some scummy pondwater.

I follow SAF on Twitter and Facebook, I have been following this dog's story. Pretty sad.

Stomach had flipped a week or so ago in surgery. ]

Time for a good PSA to adopt from a shelter, rather than buy from a breeder.

He's got the will to live, just look at the light in those beautiful eyes.
