Sell me a new phone

So I've been an apple guy from jump and am typing this on my iPhone 5 but am due an upgrade and thinking of going with something different. For the longest time I felt tied to the iPhone because all my music was in iTunes but now I use spotify and other than the free U2 album there are no songs on my phone (other than the spotify offline songs). So give me your best pitch on a new phone, what are the best and worst things about changing?

Depends on your size preference.
Note 4 and Nexus 6 in the larger market.
LG G3 and Moto X 2014 in the 5.2-5.5 range.

Don't get any Galaxy phones they suck, they're slow, and the theme is ugly. I have an iPhone 6 now and I love it compared to the Galaxy. If you're doing android just stay away from Samsung.

Galaxy phones do suck but this isn't a reason why. You can download and install any theme/launcher you want off the Play Store. This isn't Apple where you're restricted from customization, that's more on a novice user than anything else.

I know, I downloaded many themes, but it doesn't change the dialers etc. and every dialer i found had issues where it wouldn't consistently work. I'm just saying if youre getting an android stay away from samsung, just my opinion.
eta: just curious: whats your reason that galaxy phones suck?

I know it's huge, but if I were in the market right now it would 100% be the Nexus 6.

What other Apple products do you own? Laptop or iMac? If so with Yosemite and iOS8 out the 6 is a no brainer.

I use both iOS and Android and just swap my sim. As of right now I would go with the Nexus 6 if you can use a phone that big. It has top of the line specs and stock Lollipop is just so good. I hate Samsung phones but the Note series is always much better IMO than it's Galaxy S sibling. If you're going to use the spen check it out if not I would opt for the Nexus 6. I would also look at the Xperia Z3 or Z3 Compact if you're going to buy off contract. I'm in the market for a Z3 Compact right now.

Why? Mere curiosity or is there a particular failing that you're hoping Android/Windows Phone handles better?

I went from an iPhone 4S to a Moto X last year, the 2014 version is what I would recommend. No skin on top of Android makes for the easiest learning curve (along with Nexus devices), and the active display notifications are awesome.

I've got one of these coming my way. I'm pretty excited about it. I've had iphones the past 5-6 years and I'm ready for a change.

I have an iPhone 6 which I really like but I can't stop myself from trying tons of Android phones each year. Be sure to post your thoughts on the phone after you've put it through it's paces.
