So because they'll want more your solution is to give them nothing ?
and if the ncaa were to pay all athelets $300/month, it would be 420,000 ncaa athletes X $300 X 8 months (4 spring semester, 4 fall months) = $1,008,000,000. no one can just hand over a billion dollars like that

That seems to be the best approach. But opponents of that model will say, well, what's to stop some Auburn booster paying some kid $100,000 for his autograph...and the next thing you know the kids a Tiger?
But the problem with that approach is that it assumes that these kids aren't getting paid under the table already, and we all know that's incredibly naive. Just read the SB Nation Bag Men article.
