arse backwards as it seems, a tyrannical dictator more interested in power than ideology is almost necessary to keep Islam in check in that part of the world.

Western society largely keeps religion in check in this part of the world, but there is no such stabilizing force in the Middle East. Short of a technological and social revolution, the next best thing is someone like Saddam.

That's how fricked up that part of the globe it. It is actually better off with men conducting chemical warfare on their own populations.

Saddam was by and large pretty secular for someone in the Mideast. He hated the religious nutjobs like Isis and practically slaughtered them every time they popped up.


The idea that we could go into the most violent and unstable region on Earth and spread, peace, love, and a working democracy was fantasy and practically an evil con-job.

Iraq needs a strong and tyrannical dictator right now.
