Yeah, let's just start chucking the ball against that defense. LSU weakness versus Mississippi strength. It's like they don't even watch any games, or really follow football at all.
Well fuk it then....lets just run the entire game...no passes at all.....god forbid we challenge that insurmountable ranking that OM has jesus.

We are not going to win by running the ball up the middle all day against Ole Miss and Alabama. I guarantee it. If you think we will the you are a fricking idiot.
And I also guarantee we will try to run the ball up the middle all day against those two teams because Jennings is quite simply a bad quarterback. Plain and simple.

But our major problem is execution.
Quarterback execution, yes, but I can't think of too many examples where it was a problem with anyone else.
There has been a dropped pass here and there or a missed block, but most of the players seem to execute pretty well. Even some of those "Why are you running up the middle again" plays got two or three yards when they could have been losses.

Yes. It sucks being right sometimes.

1. Do you honestly think the offense is going to change for this game?
2. Do you think we can run against an OM or Bama 8 or 9 man front and be successful?

Exactly- OM will load the box against us and force us to win by passing. Jennings will panic and throw 4 ints. Progression/Decision Making are words that are not in his vocabulary.

We have virtually done away with TE passing (used some last game), I do not recall hardly, if any quick-slants
I think that would help too, but like I said in the Quinn thread, our QBs don't usually make it down the list of receivers past Dural and occasionally Dupre.

These go hand in hand. We don't even know if LSU can pass the ball b/c they never try. LSU has played plenty of cupcakes already to test the water and did not.
Other teams are passing the ball 60 tines a game. They are still losing games. Tamu prob beat our total attempts through 8 games in their 3 losses.

For all his faults, I don't think he's the type to either panic or throw 4 ints. 4 sacks maybe.

Id say look at tamu again. Yeah Kenny completes passes, but he also completes them to other teams. Poor decision making poor execution. Just cus he put up yards doesn't mean he struggles in other categories.

Exactly. He's terrified of turning the ball over. And so is Les. They let him loose against a shittastic NMSU team and he lost his damn mind out there.
LES MILES WILL NOT LET JENNINGS THROW THE BALL OVER THE MIDDLE!
We'll see some deep balls to Dural. Maybe a safe pass to the FB. That's it.

Probably not, but then I don't think we can throw against their secondaries and be successful either. Running is our best chance.

That's right, that's because they want the best chance to win the actual game. Turnovers are counter-productive to winning football games.

Okay. So we are in agreement

What is wrong about any of my posts in this thread?
We have zero passing game and we won't be able to run against Bama and OM 8 and 9 man fronts.

The basic situation is this. Either our QB's are not talented, or our coaches do a poor job of preparing them to play. Other inexperienced QB's(like Tommy Hodson for example) come in with little or no game experience but can play. Herb Tyler is anothe example. The same could be said about Matt Mauck. I like Les and respect, but this QB issue has to stop.

he is a "one read" QB who gets happy feet
BUT he is not put into positive situations for high % plays typically. that sucks.

correct, but only throwing to the sidelines or deep to the left or right makes the offense completely predictable so that the defense can pin their ears back. but maybe freeze and saban haven't watched any LSU game film this year

Teams with fewer passing attempts than LSU.
Navy
Georgia Tech
Minnesota
Army
Boston College
New Mexico
Air Force
Georgia Southern
And we're tied for 15th in rushing attempts.

Pinned back ears aren't as bad as turnovers - they're bad, but not AS bad.
These are two stout defenses LSU is facing in the next two games, their best chance is to run the ball and hope for the best.

LSU has run for at least 47 times in all their wins (several over 50) and 38 times in both losses.
