OT plumbing gurus: Toilet flapper issue

My toilets in my house were constantly running after flushing. I was having to toggle the handle to make it stop.
This weekend I went and bought new flappers for them and the toilets now are flushing weaker than before. I have hold down the handle for it to flush all the way. It's like the handle has fallen so I can't push it down very much. Also, the toilets still run after flushing at times.
Anyone have any suggestions? Will I have to end up replacing the whole kit inside the tank?

Shorten the chain.

Is the handle tight to the tank? There's a fitting on the inside that should be able to tighten it. Also you need to adjust the floater (ball on a stick, or round thingy that slides up the pole). Lower them so the water is pushing it up with more force, that should cut off the water.
capiche?

Try shortening up the chain from the flapper to the handle

I grabbed a kit for like $20 at Ace Hardware a couple years ago to fix the same issue. I'm sure it could've been fixed without it, but the kit was so cheap and easy to replace.

this is the best thing ever for a toilet. Takes the place of all the toilet internal and converts to push button.
My family loves ours.

Sounds like your fill valve isn't shutting off.
Take the top off the toilet, and see if pulling up on the float shuts off the water flow.

I see it is from Wal Mart. Does it really work well? How long have you been using it? Was it easy to install? My toilets are giving me problems with slow leaks ans this may help.....elaborate about it if you can.

bought mine on Amazon. That was just the first link i came to.
LINK
have had over a year with no issues.
You go pee-pee and you hit the top button and it does a half flush.
Take a shite and hit the bottom for a full flush.
Supposed to save water as well.

Can the dual flush solve the issue of the toilet always running? I see how it saves water but will it actually stop the toilet from running?

You either have your float set way too high, or the valve inside no longer works. The water is coming over the top of the overflow pipe..

Or harsh cleaners that sit in the tank have corroded the ring the flapper seals against.

I have the push button flusher on all my toilets but the water on one of them runs for about 5 min after a flush. I took the lid off to see if I could try and fix it but then I saw the internals, it scared me away. Looks nothing like the ole flapper and ball set up . I have no idea how to fix it now

Sounds like I need to start out by either adjusting the floater and/or the chain to the flapper.

Mine is aftermarket and have no issues with it.
