His bio only lists "Huey's" downtown.

I read somewhere he was involved in some other enterprises, but it's no big deal. It was nothing under the table or anything like that.
ETA: Found this

Also this week, Metro Councilman, attorney and businessman John Delgado announced he's opening a second downtown bar in the space at 174 South Boulevard formerly occupied by Mud and Water, which closed earlier this year.
The new bar, which Delgado is opening with business partner Andrew Bayard, will be called Brickyard South because its location, near River Road in the shadows of the Mississippi River bridge, is at the intersection of South Boulevard and Brickyard Street.
"It's going to be fun, eclectic and unpretentious," Delgado tells Daily Report. "This is not going to be the kind of place for Prohibition-era cocktails. It's just a place to have a drink and a good time." Delgado, along with Bayard, also owns Huey's on Third Street downtown.

Okay.
Delgado is a jerk who I didn't support when he ran for council but I still admire what he has done with his life considering his parents fled Cuba with him when he was a young boy with basically only the clothes on their backs and a suitcase.

Apparently he runs his mouth without thinking.
He should appreciate our system better than he does. Whether people agree with Browning or not is their right, and it's also Browning's right to petition the government to affect change.
You don't grandstand and call people terrorists for exercising their rights.
You can oppose a group without the theatrics Delgado used. That's all I'm saying. He's playing to a particular crowd and IMHO looking really bad doing it.

You can't look a gift horse in the mouth, but you can get on another.
The SG people could have done better than Rainey as a spokesperson, much better.

Norman Browning has to be embarrassed that Rainey is their public face.

We see too many "losers" migrate into politics. Many of them make a career out of it.

I can't answer that one.
And look who Kip got. In one news cycle I can see Mary Olive tell me how innocent Charlie Roberts is, and then I can read where she basically tells the SG people to GFT that she is going to sue to stop their petition.
Even here we accidently swerve into the issues once in a while, but with goofballs like Rainey and attack dogs like Mary Olive; the public isn't being served.

It is a shame and shows one thing.
1. Our school board oh I mean mandatory daycare board and administration needs to go.
We need to start with clean slate.
2. City of Baton Rouge needs its own govt and stop helping themselves to parish revenue. BR is the friend who keeps bumming money off of you and never pays you back. They need to learn fiscal reform.
3. EBRP needs its own parish police jury to make sure finances are separate from BR the friend that keeps leaching off the parish.
All cities Baker, BR our leach of the parish, Zachary, and Central plus unicorporated areas needs to pay for parish offices.

Only the voters can bring that about, and we have seen that isn't going to happen.

I agree more transparency is needed so taxpayers can see where their money is going. I do think everyone in the city-parish should get the same level of services; however, I do realize some areas may pay more for these services simply because they are better off. I don't expect to get a dollar's worth of services for every dollar of tax I send to the city-parish, but I expect to receive the same level of services as everyone else in the parish (if practical).

There are parish wide taxes that pay for many if not most of the services we receive. People in Zachary, Baker, and Central pay them too. We all pay for parish offices.

I saw the same news video and she in no way said he was innocent. In fact, she confirmed he had an affair with an employee and that was unacceptable behavior on his part.
Don't start lying like Spocket does.

She didn't say he was guilty, LOL; but you get the idea. She is usually associated with defendants and not governmental legal issues.
But it is fascinating to see her involved in this city thing. She's a noted defense attorney with a bulldog style of attack, that works in her role as a defense attorney, but not so well in civic matters.
Voters don't like being told that she's driving a nail in their coffin.

And she did admit he was "guilty" of having an affair with an employee.
What was not proven was that he had a contract with that woman to pay her "alimony" to her for the rest of her life without ever having been married to her. The judge agreed and that's why the judge dismissed the suit.
Seriously, your posts in this thread have become as untruthful and irrelevant as Sprocket's posts.

I just commented on Mary's Olive's day job, give it a rest, but you are right its inconsequential to the SG stuff.

Where did I say I knew how all the voters think? But I do know that more than one voter in SG thinks Mary Olive is going over the top.
And I only know of one voter who is disappointed in Rainey, me.

So if one were to say kids like ice cream you would take that to mean that every kid liked ice cream and not that just some kids like ice cream? OK

Wow. You're a fool.
Baton Rouge not only has the highest credit rating of any city or parish in the entire state, but it has the highest credit rating that you can get. That's an indication that they are fiscally sound. Is it not?
