Herron could possibly move back. Neal, Bower, Clark, Teuhema are all getting experience this year and all have looked well in spots. I think Godchaux was targeted as a tackle all along
Neil is getting experience at DT now, not DE. He is 6 ft max, I just can't see him ever being a viable option at DE. He may well turn out to be a very good DT though.
And I think they targeted Godcheaux as a DT too, but I don't think they had any idea he could be this disruptive at this weight this soon. Instead of bulking him up for DT, I'm just positing that they may should adjust the plan and keep him at his natural position of DE. I think he's more ready to be a force there next year than anybody. But clearly, a lot can happen over 9 months.
And let me be clear, I'm not shitting on any of our players or coaches. Just something I was thinking about last night as I finally got to see some of these guys up close. I just want to talk about our best balance for both positions, which, quite frankly, have not live up to the lofty standards some of our former DLiinemen have set the last couple of years.

If they targeted him as a tackle, wouldn't you think his natural position is inside rather than outside? If I recall correctly, lots of people were saying he'd get moved to tackle from the get go. Maybe his frame and speed(?) are more suited to tackle than end?
(My disagreement with you here has nothing to do with that other argument we were in.)

I don't think so. He does not have the size.

Neal should have been moved to fullback a year ago. Too short (5'11) and too lightweight (255) to be playing at DE or DT.
