Mettenberger was quality. He took a little while to develop, but Jennings and/or Harris have plenty of time to do the same before their eligibility expires, a lot more time than he did.
Winning just under 10 games a season given the opponents LSU has had in the last 10 years is more impressive than what just about any other coach has done during that time.

I don't think the problem is recruiting. I think it is the lack of development, which is the coach's fault.
