Correct. #7 has the dual seats and is almost never seen in a show. It serves as the PR and standby aircraft. It will fly in a show if one of the other Angels has to come down due to problems with the aircraft. I got to see this in Belle Chasse a few years back. One of the Angels suddenly left the formation and landed. The announcer mentioned that the plane was having problems and landing for safety. A few minutes later as the Angels are making a wide sweeping turn after completing a maneuver, #7 came screaming down the runway completely unannounced to the crowd and in full burn, rocketing up to join the formation.
It was pretty awesome.

The Blue Angels currently have 16 jets: four single seat F/A-18 A models, nine single seat F/A-18 C models, one 2-seat F/A-18 B and two 2-seat F/A-18 D models. While one set of 7 aircraft are out flying the show for that week the others undergo maintenance.
