I've been really eyeing buying a 1911 but as I started to research, I've realised that everyone makes a 1911

Do any of you guys own one and could suggest a maker? I've seen prices anywhere from $500-2000, I'd like to stay under $1000

I own a Ruger 1911 and I think for the price it is one of the best 1911s you can buy.

Several have said Ruger, i agree 100%. I own a Ruger SR1911. Absolutely love it.

Not my gun, but it's identical. For the price, you can't beat it.

If you want to extend that price range to $1200 or so...Kimber.

Please don't fall into the trap that being expensive makes them better.
