Saw Jerry Sienfeld last year at Rivercenter. During question and answer session at end I asked him "Beatles or Stones". What do y'all think his response was?

The Beatles never released a bad album, except Let it Be, but that was Phil Spector's fault, not the Beatles
lulz

Despite the criticisms levelled at Spector over the years for his handling of the material, Lennon defended him in his 1971 Rolling Stone interview, saying, "He was given the shittiest load of badly-recorded shite with a lousy feeling to it ever, and he made something of it."

Beatles will always be my favorite. They were the most innovative and creative band of their era. That said, for pure , raw rock & roll it's hard to top the Stones. I also think the Beach Boys are worthy of being in the discussion. Three different styles; three awesome bands !

If I have to listen to only one, the Stones.

Can't pick. Considering their careers as a whole, probably the Beatles. But "Exile" is a desert island record for me. Have to have both.

I don't know how any one can say "by a mile" or "easy"

As stated above the beatles are just in a separate category fair or not.

But the Beatles cannot match the long list of pure rock n roll and blues that the Stones put down.

The Beatles hit U.S. radio in 1964, when I was in fifth grade. Those frickers stole all our girlfriends, so when the Stones came out a few months later, I became a huge RS fan.

Rolling-fricking-Stones, mate.
