Agreed. Thinking more about making a hit instead of trying to make a play on the ball. I feel like some other safeties in the past would be salivating at that chance for a big stick. Just to lower the boom and punish the receiver.

That being said...I remember a similar "kill shot" being attempted at the end of the second quarter against Arkansas by Eric Reid(?) resulting in a no time left TD because he smoked the other defender instead of the wideout. Other LSU player left the game if I remember
