I don't get mad, because it makes no sense. I get where it came from, but it just doesn't hold up if it's supposed to be an insult.

I was told by a Bama fan that they call us corndogs bc on game day our campus smells like a county fair that sells corn dogs/funnel cakes.. Lame insult if you ask me

Right. So many people don';t even understand the "joke" anymore. It's supposed to mean we SMELL like corndogs cause of all the fried foods we cook.

As lame as that is, now it's morphing into we like to EAT corndogs, which considering we have far and away the best tailgating food in the nation, makes it an even lamer joke.

I think that it's the most unoriginal insult a fan base can throw at us. Frankly, if an opposing fan calls me a corn dog I immediately know he's an idiot and disregard anything he says.

Sums it up for me

Yeah, I haven't been to Tiger Stadium since I was 9 years old but I've heard the thing about how y'all smell like corn dogs & I've heard that corn dogs are just real popular at y'all's tailgates & now I'm seeing (from a search & link to this website) about how auburn copy-catted Nebraska. Anyways, it is stupid but it would annoy me too.

I just laugh it off.

At UF two years ago, we walked by some hecklers who had a "LSU Trap) with a corndog in a rope trap. I told him they would have better luck with a beer in the trap. They gave us a beer, we shot the shite, and we left.

I'd rather be called a corndog than a gump.
