Oh, and much props to the actor playing Cisco. I could feel his terror, his disappointment in Harrison, and his general feeling towards that emotional spot. He was perfect
That was amazing. Even with the knowledge that he appears in future episodes, that death scene was amazing.

Fantastic episode!!!
I purposely try to avoid spoilers so I was shocked as shite when Cisco got killed and then Barry tells Iris he's the Flash. I looked over at Mrs. Bard and mentioned that I couldn't believe they were putting so much into this episode.
And then he went back in time.
I liked that they had him seeing his future self then becoming the future self seeing himself in the past. The break through time looks to be setting up a Groundhog Day type of episode for next week.
What all this means is that Barry's doing things differently will mean Cisco doesn't die and probably that he won't be revealing his identity to Iris (I'm still pegging that for Season 2).
Thawne revealing his name made me 'gasm and the actor that plays Cisco nailed the bleeding frick out of that scene. From the moment Thawne revealed himself he knew he was going to die and there was nothing he could possibly do about it.

But that scene was well worth it. He freaking knocked that scene out of the park.
Plus it probably never happened...or will happen...or whatever.

Hilarious that Cisco is such a loved character on TV when he was one of the most disliked DC characters of the 80's.

The right actor can do that

well... that version of him was basically a really bad ethnic stereotype. Dude was leader of a Mexican gang and was nicknamed Paco

I'm not well versed on the Flash's comic book history, but where is future Barry? So we know he was there the night his mom died. Wells has been trapped in the past. We know Barry is missing in the future because of the news paper article.
ETA: Nevermind. I think that was fixed when Wells built the particle accelerator.

This isn't pulling exactly from any one Flash comic book story (though the basics are taken from Flashpoint).
Wells is the enemy of Flash in our future and returns to Barry's childhood to kill Flash as a child. It appears that Flash (from some time period) went back in time to stop him, the result being that Nora Allen is killed instead of young Barry.
Another result of the battle is Wells losing the superspeed needed to travel back to his own time. He realizes that he needs the Flash to get that speed and sets things in motion to turn Barry into the Flash.
We know that the Flash disappears after a "Crisis" nine years from now. Since we're dealing with a time traveling character, he could've disappeared into the past or future. The headline for the next issue could be "Flash Found" for all we know.
So the Flash that thwarts Reverse Flash in Barry's childhood could be the Flash of the current episodes or it could be a Flash from the future. It could be where/when Flash disappears to in 2024.

My best guess is that Thawne's killing of Nora Allen did more than just strand Thawne in the past. Something about his actions has hampered his connection to the Speed Force and has stranded future Barry somewhere/somewhen as well.

The episode where they found the DNA said markers in the blood were from a Barry Allen that was years older than he is now.
Unless you are talking about an alternative timeline Barry Allen, then that would mean that Future Barry is back in his future and Thawne is trapped (although he doesn't realize it yet) in Alternate Barry's (this one's) timeline.

Are you sure? Could be wrong but I don't recall that.

I think I need to stay away from the comics. The show is great but the explinations of the comic have me at a loss.

I heard a good explanation as to why there aren't two barrys now in the present but it involves a working knowledge of the speed force and I have no idea how to explain it.

I think that Cisco said he was older than the Barry that was a kid at the time. So it could be current Barry or future Barry.
I'm thinking that the Barry that went back in time to stop Thawne from killing him merged with child Barry. Kind of like when Barry went back in time in last night's episode, there was only him and not a second Barry.
