Yeah. The moisture would wick to the cardboard. Vinyl would be fine but the artwork not so much. I had a flood in my basement a few years ago and suffered damage to the artwork on about 250 LPs. That hurt a lot. Mostly original pressings from the 1970s that I took really good care of.
