True freshman, on the road, first time starter, huge rivalry, SEC play, season long implications....
Les/Cam aren't going to just go all in Rich Rod spread from the first whistle. I can see a good 3-4 series of I formation, establish the running game, play action pass offense until Harris settles in.
Unless.....1) We can't run the football out of the I & 2) Auburn is gashing our defense and we have to play for the shootout.

If fans of any team are gnashing their teeth about a formation as common place in football as the i formation than they are imbeciles.

I'm honestly surprised that many on here can recognize a formation without the announcer explicitly stating what formation the offense is in.

If the first two plays we run are unsuccessful i formation runs it will be a long game. This is one of those games where you have to stretch out from your predictable mode

Single back pistol ftw.

As long as they don't line up with two tights, idgaf. It makes no sense to run a goal line offense on your own 30. We try to do that, we lose going away.

Brandon Harris will not be limited by formation

I'm ok with that formation when I know the qb that gives us the best chance to win is on the field.

What has made is so frustrating in the past is that the formation meant we were hiding a weakness at qb (except when Mett was here)

The formation, when used effectively, opens up the screens, play actions, etc..

If Harris is settled in, the offense has the ability to give Auburn fits. We need that to keep the D fresh!

This would be precisely the time NOT to come out in the "I."

The I Formation works if you have an accurate passer. Receivers are typically in single coverage and an accurate passer will keep the LBs and Safeties in pass coverage.

If we cannot pass from the I, we might as well just run shotgun the whole time cause the offense will be going nowhere.

Not going to happen with this Oline. The only way for LSU to run the ball effectively in the SEC this season is to threaten teams with the pass early in the game and often on first down. That doesn't mean "go all Rich Rod spread", but I understand that it's all or nothing with some people.

First play out of this formation will be a bootleg to the fullback out of the backfield for 6 yards. Or he'll tuck and run if covered.

Some see the word spread and immediately get their panties in a knot. It is possible to still "spread" the defense with an I back set.

Expand your minds just a tad when the word "spread" pops up and just don't go stupid

I don't care if we start out in the I formation.

If Harris can complete the short to intermediate passes, then we can be in the I all freakin day and win.

It is not the formation, but the how the players play.

It depends....if they adjust to the defense on the field it will be okay. Auburn stacks the box, you motion LF into the slot and drop into the pistol. You end up with a matchup advantage. (This is just my rantard dream though)

An equal amount, that if we do, gnash about having 87 yards of total offense in the first half, and rightly so.
