I think he would have made a difference for LSU. Bumstead was our #1. Vargas would have been in that role. He was better than Determan, and that dude was very good, 7-0.

Jason Vargas was homesick too much in Baton Rouge, he left in the summer only to return to school in the fall. He would have been easily Smoke's best player if he would've stuck around, but in Omaha, not always the best team wins out, unless your last name is Bertman.
