The good officers do go to higher paying departments with better compensation packages and then the other departments that don't pay as well get the left overs.

BRPD did more damage to their reputation than the dept I worked for in twenty years.
Posted on 9/30/14 at 5:59 pm to johnnyrocket
BRPD does have issues that need to be corrected and worked on.

that is an understatement.

BRPD a officer resigns but then they let him retire without time in service.
The dangerous part is when the union which most members do not live in the city holds this city hostage something is wrong.

They are civil service employee's as well which is a racket in itself.
If you don't know about civil service jobs it is a monopoly.

I love how all of EBRP's sewer user fees goes to pay these leaches salaries.
EBRP sewage fees are a scam.
We had a leaky pipe on a property and it was at the meter. The water company fixed it and took the charges off, the Sewage company figured their billing based on these higher rates and now the tenants are getting hosed and are mad at me./

He pretty much did when he said he worked for one of the larger departments in the country.
I'd guess Houston PD.

People have lost a ton of respect for BRPD lately. I don't trust cops. The "protect and serve" mindset has been thrown out the window. They prey and HARASS on citizens of BR, we are the enemy. All about the power and $$$$$$. Corrupt motherfrickers.

1. I worked for one of the largest depts in the country. We had to park our vehicles after shift. Unlike BRPD we actually did our job and not drive patrol cars in lakes off duty after drinking. Guess what my dept wrote the book on riot control and traffic control. What has BRPD done and I am still waiting. Our traffic division was larger than the all the brpd divisions put together.
Let's see what BRPD accomplished besides shooting dogs, wrecking a car in the lakes by LSU, harassing citizens inside the city, and giving a fired police officer with 15 years of service a retirement. Oh, Yeah if you thing you got traffic down I got 20 years on your gomer pyle officers in traffic divison. Everytime I think BRPD and traffic I hear banjos playing.
We also didn't wreck our motorcycle in another county costing tax payers of our city when the vehicle should never be outside the city.
My shift sgt put it this way to us and maybe the BRPD officers need to hear this daily!
IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU GET PAID THEN GO WORK ELSEWHERE!!! STOP BEING A BURDEN ON THE TAX PAYERS OF THE CITY YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO REPRESENT!!!
ps I love how all of EBRP's sewer user fees goes to pay these leaches salaries.
That's really cool that your department had a big traffic office and you traffic cop'd circles around other traffic cops.

its part of their compensation
If so, they should be taxed on this income, which I doubt they do.
Examples of this are car salesmen that get demos and apartment employees that get "free" apartments. They have to pay income tax on these benefits and so should cops. If BRPD does pay income tax on this income, then good for them.

Of all the things I can criticize cops for ( and I do), this is about the most chicken shite, non issue I can think of. I have no problem with them using the cars for personal use. Hell, pull your boat with it if you want to.

I never said I have a problem with it. I simply always wondered about it when i see them out here in Livingston Parish. If they do get to take them all the way out here, and Port vincent and Zachary etc., more power to them.
