) I wouldn't blame J. Sanders/A. Guillory for all of our "current problems." Greek Life has only grown under their tenure; they've also cautiously kept our risks at bay during this period too. Compare our PR to Alabama's the past 2-3 years. It's been a complete nightmare for their IFC/etc. I know both well & don't agree with many things they have done but have to give them credit for many aspects too. In regards to not allowing kegs & etc, that's a national rule for 99% of fraternities.

I would blame Jonathan Sanders, I was on IFC and it is freaking gay the bullshite that he got upset over.

3) What we've seen at Alabama the past 5 or so years is insane & somewhat contrived. Over the past decade, they've literally experienced a $200+ million greek housing building boom that has been financed by public debt. LSU isn't taken this route & the momentum has clearly been in their court for a few years. At LSU, most fraternities have to front the cost of their housing costs (however, the new Alpha Phi house currently being built will be owned by LSU Residential Life & will be rented to Alpha Phi).

I would rather have the houses owned by the frat/sororities than the university. I also like how LSU each frat house is unique and not a cookie cutter copy of every other house on campus. However LSU frats do need to spend some $$$ fixing up their houses. KE is about to build a new one, KA has plans and is in the process of making the current house match the footprint of the old house (courtyard, bandroom, new chapter room, and alot more rooms), I head some of my EX friends taking about them redoing their house.

KE building the new house is making old row get up off their arse.

I remember Kathy Marcel getting all the blame for screwing over fraternities. I think whatever person is in administration at the time you go to school there will get the blame for everything going downhill.

That being said, are there still parties with bands and booze after home football games, or is everything off campus now?

I agree. The shite he gets worked up over is ridiculous. He definitely has the "I was in a fraternity at a small college" mentality. I would say for the most part, I'm definitely not a fan of his either

We've all been very complacent with updating our houses. As you said, when one steps up, the others will step up. I also like how all our houses look nothing alike either
