How quickly the season ends for teams like LSU and Wisconsin and the rest of regular season becomes meaningless (I know three is miracle possibilities). We need at least 8 teams with 6 getting byes and 4 playing for the final 2 spots. Just saying to get you mind off Miles offense.

4-team "playoff" is the way to go, but going to a selection committee was just retarded. Should've just kept the BCS formula.

And our playoff chances aren't over by a long shot if we somehow learn how to football..

I'd be in favor of 6 teams. Every power conference would have a chance to participate (but a particularly weak champion could still be left out). There would also be an incentive to play for the top 2 spots, with byes in play.

Where is it going to end ? A 64 team playoff with a play in game ?

This ain't fricking little league. Not everyone needs a trophy.

It will be a disaster, with a small handful of people that will think they have to spread out the teams geographically.Strength of schedule means absolutly nothing now. The Alabama play as many cupcakes to start the season formula ,now will end the season with them playing some west coast team that has no right to be there. You think when they got a ,do over in 2011 was bad just wait to see what will happen in the near future. Its a wonder the whole bama team doesnt have diabetes. No reason at all now to play a decent ooc game.At least LSU has started with Oregon, yea super team Oregon that the Tigers shredded a few years back to start the season, and beat Wisconson to start this year. But the winning formula has been set in stone for bama. This 4 team so called playoff will be a fiasco.Using computers to add in some Strength of schedule would be better than what we will have now. A biased who can eat the most cupcake winner. Its also going to add in the same favorites every year, I wouldnt doubt a do over every 3-4 years from now on.I wish I had posted this on the sec rant.

How diluted the regular season becomes with an 8 (or more team playoff field). The thing that separates college from pros is the significance of the regular season. You don't have teams that has to win in the last week of the regular season to get in the playoffs at 10-6 (Packers), a team that won 75% of their games (Ravens) or a team that barely wins half of their games (Giants only won 56% of their regular season games) getting hot at the right time to win a championship in college. I know a lot of NFL teams have strategy and want to get hot at the right time, which usually makes many of the last three weeks irrelevant. I don't want that in college football.

And, one loss does not end your season. Auburn lost early last year and went to the championship game, and there will be plenty of one loss teams in the 4-team playoff in the the coming years.
