What position did you play, or more to the point, what do you see as the deficiency.
Talent drop
Center keying incorrect
Techniques wrong or changed from previous
or other......

I understand if you don't want to get into it, but didn't seem LSU lost that much from '13 and OL was serviceable last year.

Exactly what I said when he interviewed. Mawae would literally have more credibility in the living room than anyone else possible imo. He's done it, then was an exec on the NFL level. He can talk to kids/parents and let them know EXACTLY how this shite works and how you get there. Instant cred.

At the end of the 2012 season, Gene Chizik was fired by Auburn. Former offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn was hired as head coach on December 4, 2012. Shortly after being hired, Malzahn announced that all assistant coaches were being released, thus ending Grimes' career at Auburn University.[4]

Literally, the only time Grimes was "fired".

God I hate most of our fans.

I honestly cant think of a better Oline coach then Mawae. He is literally just coaching the line, thats it. His experience is being one of the best in the NFL at it. I dont see why he needs prior coaching experience to coach just the Oline

So fired from school. Im not even saying Grimes wont be good. I just hate the "experience" excuse in some scenarios. That is it

You said he was fired from multiple schools. You had no clue what you were talking about. Therefore your opinion is useless.

Up to this point, Grimes has been a huge disappointment.

We can't give him more than 4 games before judging??

And Jeff Grimes does? He's never held a job down for more than a couple of years. And its not like he's left for better positions either. Mawae will be an NFL hall of famer who was the head of the players association. Not only is he qualified to coach, he'd be able to recruit kids based on his NFL credentials.

O line hasn't been great but a NFL line will have a hard time blocking against a stacked box and piss poor game plan. If we see 2 or 3 wide with single back and cant run the ball then I will say they have truly regressed.

Yes, but as a HOF center for 15 years I am sure he can "teach" every position and knows the drills and techniques as well as anyone. He is only a couple years removed from being a psuedo-coach (and leader of the player's union) in the NFL.

Tough call, but I cannot fault Miles here for not hiring him.

Grimes is a proven Coach. History says most players are not good coaches.

I've seen zero posters claim the Oline is playing well. Buy a fricking tampon and stop bleeding in every thead.

Geezus christ you people are stupid. If you want to argue at least do it with facts and dont be irrational.

Would Mawae be a good coach? Probably, but you know why you can't answer that with certainty? Because he has never coached. Jeff Grimes has proven he is a good coach. The problem here is none of our idiot fans want to admit that the issue is that the players are just not as good as we thought.

Its amazing how as soon as a unit doesnt play as well as we thought everyone blames the coaches. Why is it not that the players just arent as good as we thought?

That said, I am certain he'd be a better motivator.

Really? It's an offensive line coaching job? He's a no brainer and there's really no risk involved there. I've heard this guy speak and his "pedigree" is just fine....nine pro bowls. this guy was the player rep for the NFL players association. Does anyone really think that he wouldn't be able to recruit and/or identify with young men.

Geeze this will haunt LSU and my only hope is that someone else doesn't steal him before Grimes get fired.

Of course not. Thats what reasonable people would do. Our fans have proven to be everything but.
