Buildings can't rebuild buildings but people can. If we go about this thing being overly concerned about body counts for the bad guys then this will almost make Viet Nam look righteous.

WTF. Vietnam was infinitely more righteous then the half assery of Iraq and Syria.

No. What's ridiculous is;
1. You can't spell ridiculous;
2. You use an overused Big Brother term.

Did Ray Charles plan this mission? I'm sure this will deter the other 30,000 ISIS members
Depends on which 70 they nailed...if they just got pawns...waste of money.
If they got the top 70 members of the leadership...money well spent.

I love how the hawkish the peace-loving libs get when their guy wants to go to war.

It's rediculous the USA is getting even more blood on its hands for no apparent reason. bashar Assad is a Syrian issue for Syrian people, Isis is a convenient way to drag the USA into another stupid Middle East war.
Nothing good will come of this bloodshed, none. Except for the defense contractors buying themselves Scotch to celebrate the bloodshed, and new contracts.
You're going to be popular around here.

The WH briefings I watched touted "trucks" as some of the destroyed targets. My thought was "WTF kind of truck is worth a cruise missile?" We will go broke at this rate if they buy Jundie Toyotas at $20k each and we use $1.5m cruise missiles to take them out.

Oh-ho-HO! Fiction can be fun! But I find the reference section much more enlightening. For instance: if you were to look up professional football's all-time bonehead plays... you might read about a former Miami Dolphin kicker named Ray Finkle, who missed a twenty-six yard field goal in the closing seconds of Super Bowl XVII.....
.......What you WOULDN'T read about is how Finkle lost his mind and was committed to a mental hospital, only to escape and join the police force under the assumed identity of a missing hiker, manipulating his way to the top in a diabolical scheme to get even with Dan Marino whom he blamed for the entire thing!

To be fair, I'd rather have them driving sandals than trucks. I think that's part of crippling their ability to move people and supplies. But, on the other hand, it's not like there's a shortage of vehicles in that region.

It is not a feeling, it is a fact.
1 We went to Vietnam to conduct defensive war to support a sovereign country defeat an invasion and insurgency. The support to Vietnam did not violate international law.
2. We went to Iraq to conduct an offensive war to promote the interests of a variety of policy elites. The invasion of Iraq violated international law.
3. Our political leadership in Vietnam understood only ground forces could defeat another military, maybe because they had served in war
4. Our political leadership here thinks that you can win a war with air power, likely because they are bitches who have never served.
5. Our enemy in Vietnam was not subsidized by our "allies".
6. We continue to support and prop up the very regimes who support ISIL, could you imagine propping up the Soviet Union or kissing the ring of Brezhnev while we fought in Vietnam.
7. Although we bombed Cambodia and destabilized their country at least it was unintentional.
8. Initially Hundreds of Thousands of Americans proudly went to Vietnam and our country supported the war until they realized it was not worth the treasure. Today Americans will demand action but will ruin the US military by making it a mercenary force.

Correct! Empty, cleaned out buildings. No people. No 'stuff' ISIS has known for about two weeks where they were gonna bomb.

its all relative. You know how much it would cost to deploy a couple stryker battalions?

I would rather bomb them then shoot them. If we have to shoot them, well we have the capability to do that. If we can bomb them back to the stone age while sitting back and sipping Mai Tais so much the better.
I know some folks are heavily indoctrinated into thinking the US, and especially the US military, are the source of all evil in this world or believe that because a liberal President is ordering the strikes it is wrong... but ISIS/L needs to get some. We either spend a little money to nip them in the bud now or we spend a lot of money and blood to do it later.

I think that the worst deal we made was spending $18 billion on training & equipping the Iraqi military. What did we get from that?
The only benefit that I can see is that Iraq may have uncovered their track team for the 2016 olympics because only those with enough speed & stamina would have survived.
